Drinks That Are A Healthy Treat!
Good news for those who enjoy the occasional glass of wine, soda, cup of coffe or tea! These drinks are good for you! Drink to your health!
Tea
Both black and green tea drinks are high in flavonoids, a type of chemical found in plants that protects them from harm. Although green and black teas come from the same plant, the oxidation of black tea during processing creates different flavonoids than green tea, but both are beneficial to health.
Flavonoids act as antioxidants that prevent cell damage from free radicals produced as a result of normal metabolism or harmful substances like pollution. Brewing tea for 5 minutes will extract about 80% of the flavonoids, but there are far less in the bottled teas at the store.
Drinking tea is associated with lower risk for heart disease and improved lining of the blood vessels. They lower cholesterol and decrease platelet aggregation reducing the risk of heart attack by 11%. Animal tests have shown tea drinking causes a decrease in tumor formation in the skin, lungs, oral cavity, esophogus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, prostate and pancreas. The antioxidant activity also promotes the death of damaged cells before they become cancerous.

Coffee
Well conducted studies have suggested that coffee drinking is related to a lower risk of bowel cancers. A group of studies showed a 28% reduction in risk of developing colorectal cancer for coffee drinkers who consume 4 or more cups per day. It also protects against liver cancer and prevents type II diabetes.
Caffeine has been shown to improve muscular work capacity in all exercises, but particularly in long duration exercises. Although caffeine does produce a diaretic effect, beverages that contain less than 300mg will count towards your daily fluid intake.
Another study also showed a decrease in Parkinson's disease for those who drank 4 or more cups per day.

Make Soda At Home!
Now you can make your own soda or carbonated water at home! When yo make your drinks yourself you know what goes into them, or doesn't go in. Make soda without the chemicals.
How do you do it? A reusable, one-liter carbonating bottle (provided by SodaStream) is filled with water and screwed into the machine fitting. A CO2 carbonator, housed inside the soda maker, adds carbonation at the touch of a button – as much or as little as the consumer prefers. After carbonating the water, the soda drinker simply adds a capful from one of over 25 soda mix flavors to make his or her favorite, great-tasting soda.
